About Technology Solutions

Technology Solutions is committed to bring digital transformation to Illinois State University. By improving process and providing the technological infrastructure and services to help students, faculty, staff and everyone else in the Redbird community succeed.

The department goals laid out in Tech Solutions' Strategic Plan are informed by and directly support Excellence by Design: Illinois State University's Strategic Plan. By building a strong team of professionals, these goals will be reached and the campus experience will improve for everyone.

The Team

  • Application Services (APPS)

    APPS provides support and system administration for more than 70 software solutions. They are entrusted to keep those applications running by overseeing security, patching, disaster recovery, performance, etc. A few of those include PeopleSoft Campus Solutions and Human Capital Management (iPeople), ReggieNet (Sakai), Cognos, Informatica, Oracle RAC, SQL Server, SolarWinds, Splunk, Perceptive Content, Rave, Achieve, and CS Gold.

  • Business Administration and Communications (BAC)

    BAC supports all the groups in Technology Solutions. They assist in several personnel and administrative areas such as financial and contract management, procurement, facilities coordination, and vendor relations.

  • Client Services (CS)

    When you have a problem with technology, Client Services is here to help. This group provides computing support to the entire campus community. They diagnose and resolve information technology-related issues, including problems with network connectivity and ULID accounts.

  • Enterprise Data and Analytics (EDA)

    EDA provides a strong business intelligence environment that helps the University make informed and strategic decisions. This groups manages the the Institutional Data Warehouse and provides data access and training.

  • Information Security Office (ISO)

    ISO protects our technology from cyber threats. Thanks to this team, the University has a safe computing environment.

  • Infrastructure Operations and Networking (ION)

    ION manages the physical server, virtualization, and storage infrastructure for the University along with offering communication and collaboration support in areas such as email, shared stgorage, and SharePoint. Addtionally, ION provides networking infrastructure and delivers audio and video communication capabilties to campus.

  • Office of Digital Transformation and Process Improvement (ODTPI)

    Using business analysis, process improvement, project and portfolio management methodologies, ODTPI staff partner with and work alongside our business partners to successfully achieve their goals, meeting University strategic goals, improving organizational processes, and ensuring successful delivery of project objectives.

  • Web and Interactive Communications (WEB)

    The WEB team collaborates with all facets of the University. WEB ensures Illinois State's online presence is a positive and intuitive experience for all users. They also set usability and branding standards for websites and web applications within the University.
